I was a math hater till the 11th grade. The coolest book I discovered in the elementary school library that I now realize was the real stuff (and that changed my life!): Alvin’s Secret Code.

We love Shark Lady in our house. And when the children were younger we spent hours with Anno’s Counting Book.

Not so long ago it was difficult to find STEM books for young children. I am so glad we are beginning to see more authors incorporating this into their writing. If you are looking for early STEM board books, I have always liked Donald Crews--basic language, lots of color, and great topics that toddlers love!
